This blog was set up by Jon Hickman following the 2008 programme of “Urban Digital” at Handsworth Library. The aim of this blog is to share information on community based media training, and on the activities within Urban Digital as the programme continues to develop.
Within Urban Digital we touch on a range of technologies including blogging using WordPress and Blogger.com
This blog has been created via wordpress.com so that Urban Digital can maintain a live case study of a hosted wordpress blog. This blog is therefore both a collection of articles on the topic of media training within a community setting as well as a live teaching aid.
This blog is supplemented by a Flickr group at www.flickr.com/urbandigital/
We are keen to take contributions to the blog or the flickr group from:
- Students or potential students of media training courses at Handsworth Library
- Practitioners and tutors involved in delivering media training within a community context
